TRANSPORTATION
In Poland, the primary motive of transportation is a personal automobile, which there are usually two or more vehicles per household on average. People also commute by walking and some by bicycles. Walking on sidewalks as well as wheelchair activity is limited to residential areas due to the lack of sidewalks and curb ramps. Sidewalks in Poland are mostly in private developments and around schools however, the majority of the township does not have sidewalks and no designated bike routes. After talking to Matthew Chaney, a professional engineer for ODOT, he says, "there is an ODOT LPA project to construct sidewalks from Poland schools (Dobbins Road) to Nesbitt Drive in Poland Village."
Poland is fortunately located near major highways such as state routes, interstate routes, and United States routes. Michael Stipetich, a Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor gave the road conditions for the highway routes, county roads, and township roads.
The state routes are for the transportation of commerce:
Interstate Routes:
United States Routes:
In the county, there are collector roads that feed the state routes and the condition varies from good to poor.
The Township and Village roads, which are known as the residential streets, vary in condition from good to fair.

Strengths:
One strength of Poland is that it has access to many highway routes for people who travel and if they need to be taken somewhere there are many transportation systems that can be contacted, that have wheelchair accessible vehicles, to pickup community members who are disabled or cannot drive.
weaknesses:
Poland lacks sidewalks and curb ramps in the township which is a weakness for people who use wheelchairs and walk. Also, there are no designated bike paths therefore the people who use bikes as a means of transportation need to be careful. Another weakness is that for the people who use other transportation systems there are few that run through Poland regularly. US 224 access should be used with caution due to the high congestion.
