The Western Reserve Joint Fire District is governed by a Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is complied of two members of the Poland Township Trustees, 2 members from the Poland Village Council and one resident from the community

- 75% of the firefighters are trained to a firefighter level 2, while 15% are trained at a level 1.

- Station 91 – 111 S. Main St. Poland Village is the headquarters station and is location in the center of Poland Village. This station responds to the North and East portions of the district. Ladder 91 is located at this station, which is also used for supportive services for the surrounding departments
- Station 92 – 7519 Youngstown-Pittsburg Road is located on State Route 170 North of Dobbins Road. This station responds to calls in the South and Southeast portions of the district and is the secondary response throughout the district.
- Station 93 – 2040 S. Hubbard Road is located at the intersection of S. Hubbard and New Castle Road (which is considered Poland’s North Hill”. This station responds to calls on the “North Hill” and aids Coitsville Township and the Village of Lowellville.

- Source of Support: The District responds with automatic mutual aid to Lowellville, New Middletown, Coitsville, Struthers and Springfield Township. In 2006 and 2007 the district provided services more than 60 miles away.

- Poland Township has a holding cell at the station. There is a minimum of a 6-hour hold of the individual then they are transported to the Mahoning County Jail or the Juvenile Justice center both in Youngstown, Ohio depending on individual(s) age.
- There are no camera or radar systems throughout the community.
- DARE services offered throughout the school system. The DARE officer also provides finger printing to the Kindergarten classes.
- Finger printing is provided for all at the Police Department.
- The department will provide house watching services when a resident is out of town
- Within the next month Chief Brian Goodin stated the department will be providing a senior watch for those senior residents above the age of 65 with no family. This service will also be extended those have special needs.

Some of the volunteers at the fire department are crossed trained between a firefighter and EMT. The fire department has 1 tanker truck that can hold up to 2000 gallons of water. The Dare program is provided by the township police and is done at all local schools in Poland. The average response time for the police is 5 minutes. The township police department provides house watch/senior watch services to members of the community. The EMA of Mahoning county provides weather tips and alerts on their website to the community.

This can delay the searching process of a vehicle and delay the officers from answering other calls. There is no type of camera/radar system within the community.
